KENTWOOD GENERAL INFORMATION Kentwood is a city in Kent County in the U.S. state of Michigan (49508 & 49512). The population was 45,255 at the 2000 census. The city was originally formed as Paris Township in 1839. It incorporated as a city in 1967 to prevent further annexation of land from the cities of Grand Rapids and Wyoming. St the south end is located an historical "cattle crossing" that the Bowen family used to allow passage of their cattle for grazing. Parking is available. EAST PARIS NATURE PARK: (northwest corner of 60th and East Paris Ave) Visit this pristine natural area and take advantage of the walking trails in and around water retention ponds.
